Hi, I’m Dr Edward Bassingthwaighte—The Healing Vet.
My mission is to provide the best quality, most compassionate veterinary care possible—blending the rigour of modern medicine with bodywork, nutrition, and an intuitive presence that puts your animal at the centre of every decision.
Three Principles That Shape Every Consultation.
Love is the cornerstone of healing.
Every consultation begins with presence. Animals respond to attention, calm, and care—long before they respond to medicine. This isn’t sentimental; it’s clinical.
Profound healing for your pet is possible.
After 30 years I have watched outcomes that conventional medicine alone could not produce. Integrative care—medicine, bodywork, nutrition, intuition—opens doors.
Much of the power to heal lies in your hands.
You know your animal better than anyone. My job is to give you tools, understanding, and a treatment plan you can actually carry out at home.
From Cattle Station To Global Practice.
Conventional veterinary medicine is extraordinary. So is what lies beyond it. My career has been a slow, careful integration of the two—always in service of the animal in front of me.
- North Queensland
Cattle station upbringing
I grew up around working dogs, horses, and cattle. Animals were colleagues. I learned to read them before I learned to read a textbook.
- University
BVSc(HonsII)
I graduated with honours and stepped into conventional veterinary practice with high standards and a sharp scalpel.
- 1990s–2000s
Natural horsemanship
Working with horses taught me what conventional vet school could not: the nervous system speaks louder than words. Pressure-release. Listening. Patience.
- 2000s onwards
Energy healing & WEBB technique
I developed the WEBB Neuro-Fascial Release method—a touch-based therapy that helps anxious, traumatised, and chronically painful animals self-regulate and recover.
- Today
